Wanting to transform Clio RS 182 cup into S1600 - Need help!!

  Clio RS 182 CUP
Hello!
I'm new here and would really appreciate some advice :)
I have an RS 182 cup that i want to transform into an S1600.

Im a bit overwhelmed with all the information online and would like get guidance on where i can find the parts i need to get my car into an S1600.

So mainly it's:
1- body kit
2- wheels
3- fitting for the wheels to sit in properly with the new width of the car

Anything else?
And where can i find those?

Thanks guys!!
Ralph

Are you going rallying? If so just buy one. Forget the fact that 50-60k is probably a bargain compared to buying all the parts and fabricating a shell, the real value is the fact that even historic rallying will be fully electric by the time you find all the original parts 😀

Alternatively you could make a rep like this guy… IIRC he kept the amount of fabrication/custom/S1600 parts down to a fairly respectable minimum.

not going rallying, im doing it just for the looks to be honest!
yes that 1600 replica is EXACTLY what im planning for.

I found the body kit and all body parts, that was easy.
what im struggling with and having a hard time finding is the WHEELS and how to WIDEN THE WHEEL BASE.

any thoughts?

I figured out the whole bodypart and kit side.
I am having a hard time finding the right wheels and the right spacing...

You've basically got too choices:

Once you have the body kit fitted, you can measure how much wider you need the track to be and fit ridiculously low offset wheels or massive spacers. If you can get the width right like that, it will give you the look, but the car won't drive very well.

The alternative is to widen the suspension but, as far as I know, there aren't really any off-the-shelf parts specifically designed to achieve this, other than the factory S1600 suspension of course, but you'll need to fit all of it and it will cost a fortune. That basically leaves you with having to make your own wider wishbones, track rods etc. You may be able to use the Laguna hubs from a Cup racer as I think they helped to widen the track slightly. It's not impossible by any means but, if you go down this route, you will have to make sure you get the geometry right. If you don't, you'll end up with awful bump steer and a car that drives badly.

It's not an easy job either way.

Thank you so much, this was super helpful!!
I guess i will be going with the option of making my own wishbones and rodes.
I'll be looking at the laguna ones see if it helps.

Do you know which wheels will work on it best?

You need to speak to a company that can properly design the parts. You will want the front wishbones as wide as possible as a big offset will cause clearance issues when turning. For the rear I'd probably ditch the rear suspension design and either get a double wishbone or weld in a McPherson strut. Find a FWD car that has the same track width then look at whether its possible to graft the suspension on
