Multi car diagnostic tool

I have been looking to buy a multi car diagnostic tool for a while, but now that I bought @Flob 's XFR and doing a Eurotrip, I need to speed things up, just in case.

Already have a clone VCDS and a Clip clone, but I hate making sure the laptop is always charged and stuff, so if the new one could do VAG and Renault, that would be nice.

Error scaning and live data would ideal, plus being able to do some tests on different components and disable electric hand brake for changing pads and stuff.

Been looking at some second hand Autel or at Xtool, but can't really decide.

My budget would be around £300.

Any recommendations?

The Topdon stuff looks pretty good. I get the feeling the companies making these are putting in some decent effort to make their tools really good, so there's actually some competition in the marketplace.

Anyone tried the Otofix stuff. Basically the same as Autel from what I can tell.. has upload as well as download capability as well.

I've just got my dad a Topdon Artidiag 600S

It'll do ABS bleeds, injector coding, steering angle resets, DPF regens etc. Apparently comes with free lifetime updates, not sure how true that is because most places say it's free for 2 years

Either way for £113 delivered off AliExpress I couldn't say no. And it was delivered next day!!
Will it do transfer case resets? Still need to do mine

If its anything like my topdon battery tester it'll just tell you to replace everything everytime you scan it.

Seems they have changed to free 3 years.
They had an offer on ebay, £50 discount on the D7 version, but now that ship has sailed unfortunately.
Autel Maxicom MK808 and Topdon Artidiag are free updates for a year.

Launch CRP129 Evo is free updates for life and should do most of what you need. (i have one).
Seen these 2 are very popular. Almost grabbed a second hand MK808 yesterday for £130, but someone pressed 'buy' seconds before me.

Seen you can get them on ebay for £130, not that big difference from what you paid. Did your old man had a chance to try it ?

My mate just got an iCarsoft one for £150 on amazon and although simple it seems to do everything needed including live data display. They have a smaller one for £100 too.

If I didn't have my tablet thing and just wanted something that worked I reckon I would get one.

I have the iCarsoft CR V2.0. Mine came bundled with six car manufacturers and set me back £99. It’s gotten me out of trouble many times with my old Clio, even though I still have no idea what I’m doing. It can read pretty much all the modules, including the steering angle sensor reset and live data. It doesn’t support ABS bleeding, though - which I read on a forum that it did - but it’s still been money well spent.

I have an Otofix D1 lite. Paid <£200 from Aliexpress (UK seller though so arrived in a couple of days)

Uses Autel software and comes with 2 years out of the box. Its bidirectional too which very few are at this price point.

It's bloody brilliant!
