Any recommendations for decent one or ones to avoid?

Used the first version of this in my Leon that only had wired AA

Just don't buy the Motorola one !

The AA is recommended by a lot of people online.

I bought that Motorola one, thinking it's a known brand and it will last. 1 year and a few months down the line, it died, and searching online it's their thing . I have put the chip in the oven for a 'reflow' and it works now, but I still get the random disconect.

I bought a real cheapo one, An Eonon X3. It's a bit big for the gap, and my old eyes can't see the tiny icons, but it works fine.

I had the AA Wireless 2 in the peugeot and it was much much better than the not very cheap amazon one. Shame my M2 doesn't have android auto 🙄.
If I can find it you can have it for £20 + post.
