Used the first version of this in my Leon that only had wired AA

Just don't buy the Motorola one !

The AA is recommended by a lot of people online.

I bought that Motorola one, thinking it's a known brand and it will last. 1 year and a few months down the line, it died, and searching online it's their thing . I have put the chip in the oven for a 'reflow' and it works now, but I still get the random disconect.
