Pad cleaning?

Seems to be some information out there about cleaning products for the detailing pads themselves.

Are they worth it - or is simple warm water and squashing the pads the better option?

Did that with mine recently, worked a treat. Give the pad a good massaging in the water, then wring it out and air dry it.

Spray with APC and leave it to soak in a bowl of hot water and washing up liquid.

I've got Poorboys Tornado pad cleaner and find it works better than APC or fairy liquid. But if you've got access to hot water and don't mind cleaning pads while polishing fairy liquid and hot water works well enough.

I washed my polishing pads by hand with washing up liquid to remove any residue and then bunged them in the washing machine on a cool wash with my DIY clothes. Came out like new.
