As they develop models so quickly the Plus seems to get access to the newest ones I guess to expose it to as many people as possible. At some point the difference between plus and pro will grow I'm sure.

I’ve found a huge difference with Claude on a standard plan to the max x20 which is £150 a month, well worth the extra but only with a decent needy project. Will finish what I’m doing hopefully over the next few weeks then might let ChatGPT critique it and suggest some upgrades.

It has different uses. Chat and point in time work, is what 85% of the general population use A.I for. Short context window, limited memory, Q&A or searching - you can get away with free tiers. Including lite coding and app work.
At this level it makes sense to sanity check across platforms, but noting underlying models used.

10% are using agentic. And/or paying for subscriptions. Co-working, coding/app building projects that are meaningful but still home-esq setups. Model choice is personal and tailored to what the agent function is.

Last 5% likely deep into workflows. Large subscriptions and/or work based. End-to-end solutions, eco-systems, data science and beyond. Mainly as part of their profession. Wide model choices, including self hosted elements & multi-cloud architectures (usually microservice & event driven)

The above - Based on my industry experience in the last few years (3 roles, all in tech architecture and leadership).

it's been briefed to basically always be adversarial ; to find fault with everything I'm doing and back it up with references. Really useful, but really, really annoying. I can sympathise with just wanting it to say "no worries, you're good" once in a while.

I have the paid version of GPT, but purely because it allows me to have the privacy setting on to comply with GDPR. Ill be honest though, I mostly use it for my gym program and calorie counting. That and, ill be honest, I use it to 'fight fire with fire' when customers fire out some insane AI emails at me.

I notice on the PC app, there's a 'Work' tab now. It appears its for integrating into apps such as outlook etc. Whilst that would be handy, in some cases, I think its not for me just yet. I also dont really trust it enough to do some things.

So, help?

I’m clearly lacking the ideas/intelligence for it.

My mate who’s in IT uses it all the time in work and at home. The latest thing was getting Claude to fix his headunit which had bricked itself, he got it to communicate with the h/u, diagnose the issue and perform fixes? Blows my mind

There isn't anything wrong with using it as you do now.

If you're struggling for the ideas part... Think of a s**t routine or mundane part of your job or role. See if it can help organise, standardise or digitise.

Which is all well and good, but even doing some relatively light stuff with it today it burnt through $10 of my $100 a month budget, and that was ‘only’ using Sonnet 4.6.

I started off sticking in a description of the business, what we do any why and asked it to give me some thoughts, then basically got into stuff that way and it started me thinking in certain directions and creating ideas from there.

As Donny said tell it all about processes you do that are admin intense or just plain boring and see what it suggests to improve with.

Now I am known as the excel guru and get people coming straight to me with excel questions whenever someone has an issue

Thats reassuring, I just feel like a constant moron whos slipping behind!

Thankfully, my place doesnt. Most of my staff are....mature......and dont really get AI other than sending each other videos of Cats cooking dinner. But, that in itself is a concern.

Thats actually nuts. Most of the time my brain doesnt go 'I could AI for this'. I cant tell if thats a bad thing or a good thing?

There are a couple of things I find genuinely mundane, but a lot of that is HR. I might just end up getting Claude, or GPT, to handle all my HR issues. Because they're 99% face to face, ill get one of those brains in a jar and a little speaker, then let it do the rest

Jokes aside, most of my role is problem solving - something im generally pretty good at. But I like being hands on and dont necessarily trust it to handle certain things. I also dont want our business to become some emotionless machine that churns out generic responses to customer issues.

The only thing that I really hate doing and need to, is staff rotas.

I use Claude (paid) daily with my work tasks. You need to pick the right things for it to help you with otherwise you just end up with a bunch of AI b****cks that you spend more time fixing.

My business is conferences and events and we have 3 of us in total managing around 200 events a year for about 10 clients. I've probably got back about 2 hours a day with what I use it for.

Things I use it for that I used to do manually:

- Writing scripts for emcees / speeches
- Writing any marketing blurb - I then manually check it all and rewrite it in my own voice (although claude now knows what i sound like, because i feed it back what i have changed so it learns and gets better)
- Any sort of research task / list making of target speakers / customers / venues / etc....
- Generating questions for panel discussions I moderate or people I interview
- Feed it transcripts of our entire events and get it to draft white papers of the key takeaways to send to attendees
- Coming up with ideas when I get stuck on creative and interesting things
- Drafting contracts (I have solicitor made contracts that I feed in to it and get them to update edit)
- Checking contracts (if its below a certain value its not worth paying a solicitor £200 an hour to check)
- Drafting emails to multiple people if they each need personalising - for example inviting 30 people to speak at an event and making it relevant to their company and specialism used to take me hours, now claude drafts it and puts it in my drafts in my gmail so I can send them out rather than drafting each one from scratch
- Having it act as a consultant on business plans and play devils advocate, usually gives me food for thought on things I haven't thought about
- Building excel sheets from scratch with formulas (for example we do hackathons and have our own proprietary software for scoring but it just pulls off raw data with each judge and then their scores, it doesnt rank them and show us winners in order or anything) so feed that into claude and it creates me a lovely looking summary

These are all fairly basic bits that anyone can do following a decent prompt structure
- Act as XYZ
- I need you to do ABC
- If you dont understand ask me
- any further instructions - dont do this, etc...

I have a freelancer currently building 2 new websites and 5 new web portals which he would normally do manually and take about 8 months to finish, he now uses claude to code 80% of it and can build stuff in about 8 weeks. Hes way smarter than me....

Point being, theres easy stuff you can hand over to it, you dont need to be creating mad s**t!

Quickest way to solve that is go crazy with it, have it do absolutely everything, write stupid apps for stuff that's simply not needed.

When the CEO gets the bill for all the tokens that've been used, they'll fire out a panicked email telling everyone to cut right down.

yeah exactly. With the desktop application and co work and code it can pretty much take the wheel. Its got very good over the last 6 months. Just requires that final 10-20% technical proficiency.

I think you need to be careful with AI generated websites if they need to be indexed and ranked by, say, Google. Google rankings have recently smashed AI generated websites and now heavily prioritize genuinely human websites.

That said, if you just need a platform to show your stuff off and you dont care about rankings, I can see the appeal completely!

That said, if you just need a platform to show your stuff off and you dont care about rankings, I can see the appeal completely!

If it's relevant to the topic, it still has the potential to be ranked, Google favours quality at the end of the day.

However, if it's content for contents sake, then this will probably be penalised in the long run.

Nothings wrong with that, but why would you not streamline something if you can?

The way it works is I get it to generate a 4 day meal plan with my prompt of:

- low in cholesterol
- easy to make within 30 mins or so
- can be bought at Aldi or Morrisons

And then every week it will generate a different meal incorporating different meats into it for variety, essentially a hello fresh or gousto meal plan without paying through the roof for it.

Then it will:

- generate the meal plan
- give me the shopping list in order of the shop floor plan.
- then create a PDF, one page per meal with instructions and Qty hello fresh style that I will simply open up when cooking

I can't see how that cant possibly make someone's life easier*

*when it doesn't chuck f**king feta in when not needed.

We just interviewed someone over teams, the more it went on, the more it became apparent he was likely reading directly from AI monitoring the conversation and simultaneously generating responses. At one point I was questing whether it was even a real person as the way he worded his answers screamed AI, but it was the zero delay between the questions and answers that makes us unsure.

Kind of freaky actually.

Anyway, he’s supposedly coming in for an in-person interview next week. Let’s see who, or what, comes through the door lmao.

Surprise surprise, this guy’s apparently been offered a different job, and needs to either accept or reject it before our in-person interview. So has blackmailed us saying we have to offer him the job today, without the interview, or he’s going elsewhere.

Can’t take that risk, so we told him to take the other one. Maybe it was a bluff, who knows
