Speedo problem....

Hello,

Picked up my 16v today was driving along A1 and the speedo suddenly said I was doing 35mph when I was actually doing about 45mph???

Got stuck in traffic and after about half hour of sitting in the traffic and then speeding up again it corrected itself???

What could be wrong to make it do that??

Have a search on williamsclio.co.uk its the gearbox sensor or the speedo cable I belive.
