Best oil for dci

  "Navy" N17 TWO
I tried to search but the facility is down...

Can anyone reccomend which oil to use for the dci 80 ?
The car only does 12-14k miles per year if it makes any difference

Cheers

Hi.

I use Shell Helix Ultra 5W40 full synthetic (not a Long Life oil !) and change every 15.000 km. plus new oil filter. The most important thing is that the oil is full synthetic and that you change it (plus oil filter) once a year or about 15.000 km.

I'm going to change the oil every 10k miles

Anyone reccomend a longer-lasting 5W40 oil ?

Cheers

I'd recomend the Millers 5-40 they also a do a diesel specific one I've got to go in my car this weekend to give a try.

But there not cheap oild but they stand up to some abuse 120 degrees most oils break up. Milers is good for 150 degreesor so.

Ive been using Millers oils For about fifteen years. They do a diesel specific 10/40 semi synthetic and a fully synthetic diesel specific 5/40.
I think the full synthetic is around 23 quid.

I can vouch for them. My previous Peugeot diesel now owned by my neighbour still going strong after 280000 miles. Engine all original. Fed on Millers from new changed every 6000.
Hoping it does the same for my Dci though a bit to go after 60000.

You can if needed senda sample of used oil to Millers for analysis.

for a relatively small firm their customer service is A1.

£23 are you sure its £40 or so I'm paying I think for the 10-40 normal stuff (5 liters).

Sorry Edde my mistake just checked. Bought 5 litres last week 5/40 full synthetic Millers XFD at £29.95 in Preston.
Obviously the semi synthetic 10/40 XFE will be cheaper.

I think Millers sell it on line now. Theres not many places stock it.
