induction kit

the car the question is for is a i82 clio
if not which are the best ones and which are crap

If its getting the air from under the bonnet near the hot engine then yep power will drop.

^ But if you supply a cold air feed and add a possible heatshield then an open cone will be ok. It will only suffer when in traffic due to there being no air flowing into the engine bay. Once moving, there should be no heatsoak (or very little).

Well i've read up alot and about every filter out there. . The k&n gen 2 kit for the 182 is great. It has the heat shield and you feed a cold in take from thr bottom also it does away with the old intake pipe and gets replaced by a smothe and nice looking K&N pipe. ITS A BIG THUMBS UP FROM ME, also the new apollo k&n has been giving a fair old rite up by maxpower. the apollo is ment to be universal but they have started to make them for certain cars and the 172/182 happing to be in there.

the end of the air filter thingy in mine fell off tonight went round a corner and in a little pot hole then suddenly the engine sounded mint lol, pulled over opened her up and realised end had twisted itself off i assume, twisted it back on now jus sounds boring again lol

may be so yeah but k&n are good. my gen 2kit for sure has made a big dif. k-tec do say these carbon indution kits work well. anyone have one and does it????

we only recommend those three, they all do the same thing at the end of the day, you pays yer money, you make yer choice

k+n apollo is shite , its a universal filter ,with a smaller surface area than the oe panel filter .

I have a k+n cone filter in a custom aluminium enclosure , cheaper than your maxogens etc.....

No loss in power , pulls hard, no loss of 5k kick like the apollo .
