bit of a problem guys's and ladies

i noticed a while back that when i brake reverse or indicate, the back foglight lights up on the dashboard and flash's. I stuck the hazards on went round to the tail lights and i seen the brake light flashing on and off.

i know older megane owners suffer big time with this problem but i aint got a clue what it is.

any help would be appreciated

Re: electrics

Bad earth, check the connection on the back nearside light assembly.

Re: electrics

Just undo the 10mm nut that holds all the earth wires to the body, clean it up with a wire brush and put it back together, 5 min job.

Not sure what the issue is...but :bump: back up.

not an expert, but one of my mates had a similar problem with his mk1 corsa.
everytime he breaked or indicated, his headlights turned off and his tailights flashed.... amusing, but not so good in the dark!

Turned out it was down to all the stuff he had running in there wired up dodgy (headunit, speakers, amp, 3 things running of multiple ciggerette sockets etc) had eventually over heated and just slightly melted the insulation on some of the wiring making short circuits in his lighting. eventually the dash caught light!

dont know if this could be an issue with you mate. worth having a look if you are draining that battery!!!

Poor earth, take the drivers side rear cluster out and check the main earthing point to the body of the car.

Have you removed the rear lights at all?
I removed mine to have my 172 rear bumper fitted and it was because the contacts needed cleaning, once they had parted then put back together my rear fog lit up when i breaked or indicated!

Just remove your rear lights and clean the contacts!:)

Wasn't sure if it could be one of these....:)

Possibly a poor earth which then causes that light you are operating to earth through the bulb filament of another lamp causing that to come on aswell.
