Things you can do:
Check all your bulbs, horn, wipers function well, check your tyres. They will do a brake test and emissions test. If you're car sits for long periods of time readings may be slighly higher and if it has a de-cat you are looking at a fail. If you are interested I can post the details of the limits printed on my emission test results. I doubt your car will fail on this though.
You could, if bothered, check any play in steering / suspension (grab top + bottom of wheel (jacked up) and feel for play) rust should not be a problem on your car but I'll mention it anyway; structural rust within (i'm not 100% sure) 7cm of any anchor point, hole in structural sections, excessive rust on brakes (including disks) is a fail / they will mention.
At some garages it's a visual check apart from the emissions + brakes.
