theres a clio ive bought its a 1999 clio v reg, alize manual, is it 16v coz I know some are?

It could be but is more likely to be an 8v.

just look under the bonnet! it probley a 8v like mine! but they did do the 16 valves that early to!

sorry im a bit tired just got in from work, you kno how it is. Ive just bought a clio the women just said it was a 1.4, but im unsure whether its 8v or 16v. I havent got the manuals yet as Im collecting at the weekend. What would be the difference between the 2? cheers

alot! those extra valves rele make a difference 2 be honest! my 8v is nippy enough round town!but dnt expect pure speed!lol

the 1.4 16v feels quite nippy tbh, but thats coming from a 1.2 8v. I'd imagine yours to be an 8v....

early Alizes were 1.4 8v like mine. I think 1.4 16v variants came in early summer 2000

and 1.4 8v is nippy in town as said. will do up to 100mph comfortably on the private runway but runs out of puff usually about 110mph. Perfectly adequate tho!

Don't agree, my cup is ghey after 80 really, after 50 on a 1.4 there is no puff, just progress

Why? i am well versed in car mechanics, i know thre is no fault with her. I do know 1*2's are not the monsters people make out, i consider them nippy. Cars like Scutch's P1 + VXs Turbo's etc are fast.
