Whats cheaper, standard or aftermarket exhaust?

My exhaust started blowing earlier on, whats cheaper, brand new standard exhaust or an aftermarket one from somewhere like prospeed?

an aftermarket one on mine was within £5 of the kwik-fit OEM replacement that failed within a year. £5 cheaper to go to a better performing system

Difference is with a stainless you usually get a lifetime guarantee and with standard I guarantee it wont last 4 years

not a bad price. i fancied a 3.5" slash cut exhaust but aint seen 1 around 2 if i like it. is it worth getting a sports cat? do they really increase by much?

Cant remember if I had the 3.5" or 4" now. Ask Timsclio172 he's got their sports cat.

yeh i'll c if i can ask him. not sure how loud to hav it tho if i get a prospeed exhaust. I just want something bit louder than standard and deeper sounding.

It's that or proper stainless aftermarket ones

I bought a back box last year and that was £120ish, but as someone mentioned above if you buy standard you'll only need to replace it in 2-4 years so its a false ecomony.

I couldn't get a backbox on it's own for my 172...the exhaust right up to the car comes in one piece (2002 model).

Thats odd, mines a '02 and I could get a back box no problems.

From cat back I was quoted just over £300 for a std. exhaust. I bought my yozzasport with decat for a little over £500. Exhaust on it's own was £400 I think. So for £100 more I've got a lifetime warranty. There are cheaper exhausts out there so the difference could be closer.

Also i'm pretty sure mine was a one piece form the cat back on the original.

Think i'll get one from prosport, just got home and my exhaust is even worse, the back box was just hanging off. i'll ring the prospeed guys 2moz 2 c if i can book my car in 4 monday. wot u reckon i should get, stealth or slash cut (cut into bumper)??
