Annoying ticking noise???

please can anyone help, iv noticed a very fast ticking noise coming from just infront of the n/s headlight,
it carries on for about a min, then you can hear a click from the fusebox on the o/s and the noise stops.
Has anyone got any ideas about what it might be, cos its doing my nogin in.:S :dead:

Charcoal canister mate! quite common! just need a new one, around £40

is it something to do with the exhaust system then?

no, its to do with recirculation of vapours etc! its a black box, couple of pipes clip onto it and a multiplug!

how comes it carries on after the engine is switched off for about a min?

yes its still working! nah it works ok when its ticking, just does your head in eventually!
