wear on gear knob

on my 12 month old clio i have wear on the gear knob, looks like its from a ring.
can i claim under waranty?

i have had the car 4 weeks, one previous owner.

or buy a new after-market one, i got mine for a tenner from A1,
and it took 5 mins to remove the old one and put on the new one.
