172 Cup
Need some help asap plz.
I bought my 172 last month and paid the policy off in full Just got a letter from my insurance company (admiral) saying that the previous owner had insured the car with elephant. And listed a modification (lowering springs 40mm), and i have not.
I decided not to tell the insurance company as im going to take them off for winter in the next few weeks. The car has also got the turinis off the cup, but didnt think id have to add them to the insurance as there standard renault? am i wrong?
Anyways they said unless i take the car to a renault garage and get a letter from them proving the springs are origional renault ones im going to get charged £285.
Surely this figure cannot be right just for some 40mm springs. My mate has a saxo vtr, thats slammed 60mm n told his insurance company n they only wanted an extra £20 from him to insure it lowered.
I know im going to have to swap them round then take it to the garage, but ne help or ideas on getting round this would be much appreciated. thanks (ps sorry its an essay, i waffle)
