last night i was about to take a new policy out on my 182 with bell. last year i used elephant and my policy ran out on 1st october. anyway, i was just about to pay last night and couldnt understand why my card kept getting rejected! turned out elephant had kindly taken £1300 out of my bank last week for renewal, without me wanting to renew or me consenting to!!!

absolutely ridiculous, i rang them and the 3 people i spoke to were all american! dont think they had a clue what i was going on about, didnt apologise once for taking the cash out of my account like that (even tho last year i paid monthly!) and said they will refund it within 10 days of confirmation of refund, im yet to receive confirmation so god knows how long theyre gonna be holding onto my money!

whilst i was complaining about this, the guy was STILL trying to make me go with them instead of bell and asking if i would if they matched the quote, i said no way after this had happened!

anyone else experienced something similar? i didnt think companies had a right to take money from you without your consent!!! releaved in a way that theyve got the money and that my original thought that my card had been cloned hasnt happened!

on a lighter note, the bf has got a porsche caymen for the weekend through work, and im on the insurance policy makes waiting to drive the 182 a bit better!

they are the same company mate all part of the Admiral brand.

i know admiral, bell and elephant are supposedly the same but the guy still wanted me to swap from bell to elephant. and bell are cheaper so i cant see how theyre the same company?

Write a letter of complaint, I had money taken out of my account without my concent by APlan, I wrote a letter, they refunded me the charges to my account and £40 for the hassle of it all.

Got a letter you can use/amend if its any help ?

its bad that! i cant understand why they took the full sum out of the account i used as a 1 off to settle the last part of my premium a few months ago, id been using a diff card for the monthly direct debits.

You need to tell them 10 days before the policy runs out if you do not wish to re new with them, otherwise it states that they will charge.

It's all written there.

They sent me a letter saying if i did not tell them in 30 days or something they would auto re bill me the amount just standard practice.
