I was in a small team at Admiral when we tested this for young drivers.

DONT DO IT.

Its more expensive and they will now if you break speed limits when you drive and how often and charge you.

With the admiral system you got a £30 charge if you went over 80 on the motorway for example

only any good to people who do no miles and drive at certain times of the day. I know when I looked at Norwich Union, all my driving was done at their 'peak times' and was circa £1 a mile!

yeh anythin after 11 oclock or before 6am is 1 pound a mile. Plus its not as easy as drive and get charged u still have to pay a lump sum at the start and as someone has already said its a tracker and they can tell if u speed

yep they wont let you have it unless you are keeping your car for 2 year,s its a tracker, and is meant to keep you off the roads between the danger times of 10pm and 6am..
the send you a £25 penalty every time the ingition is turned on during this time, plus as its pay monthly your payments are different every month, they can also fine you for speeding, and will increade your payments of you go over your declares milage, so you say you are doing 8k a yea,r but you breach than ad the cost per mile goes up until you delare it.

is a completley rediculous scheme when you look at it properly, but they do give you free satnav, which if you crash you can use to send a signal to notify of the crash, and they then send a recovery lorry.

I should only pay about £500 next year, so dont think i will bother looking into it. Cant believe anyone would take out a policy.

Wonder what would happen if you were on a track speeding, would you still get a fine?

yeah beacuse unless you have track day cover then will know where you are and still fine you or just terminate the policy.

Its only worth it if you are a first time young driver who doesnt do hardly any miles.

and at a rough guess they'd want the track day cover to be bought through them??

What frightens me about this scheme is how long before the government make it mandatory for this type of thing...:S
