Swapping from electric to manual mirrors; can this be done?

Just the internal mechanism, interior door plates and switch, leaving the mirror housing etc. in place.

You need new mirrors externally aswell? take it you knew that! Yes, just unbotl the old ones, and bolt up the manual ones!!!

Can the colour-coded cover be swapped easily?

The covers clip off. Check the weight diferences of the complete mirror. if there aint much in it then u could leave the electric ones on and u can still adjust them by moving the glass. Thats how i did mine, but im too tight to by more mirrors

We found, by unscientific methods, that a manual mk1 mirror feels like it weighs the same as an electric one so double check before you waste cash on a 4g saving!

And yes the covers pop off and are interchangeable

They'll cost me money though.

I was hoping someone with manual mirrors would want to swap, they take their car to Rentech as I do, and they pay him to swap everything over including all the wiring etc.

So for no cost to me, it's got to be worth it.
