driving t0 spain!!

hi all

im taking my 172 on holiday with me in june driving to see my folks in barcelona i just hope it makes it that far lol!!
never driven this far before in my own car i just hope nothing go's wrong
has anybody got any advice for me or stories that went horribly wrong!!

You'll be fine.

Make sure your insurance covers you abroad (give them a ring to check) and make sure you have AA/RAC/whatever cover as well!

Oh, and I think it might be worth taking one of those E111 forms from the post office too, in case something happens? But I think they've changed so you'll have to check...

Haha i been thinking about doing this with some of lmy mates iin the holidays but no-one else really fancies taking a drive that far!

3 in each car, and just have couple days away, would be awesom experience!

Any when i was on the bus to spain ages ago i remember some nice roads lol...That was in a bus though!

The 1#2 is a good car for trips like this, Ive driven mine to Italy, france switzerland ,Belguim, and Germany, get a Tom Tom Europe, it will save alot of stress and arguments.

Check rules for what you need to carry in the car too. I think some countries you have to have a triangle and, um, a torch (or something like that)

For Spain it's -

2 warning triangles (Only one for car's registered outside Spain)
Replacement bulbs
A reflective jacket
Driving license
Vehicle registration
Certificate of motor insurance

Also if you wear glasses it's compulsory that you carry a spare pair with you.

It should be fun. A European road trip is a great thing to do.

Last year i did the Ramshackle Rally (in a £200 Nova SR) to Krakow, Poland. It took 4 days and was a great laugh. This year we are doing the trip to Split in Croatia.

Im sure you will have great fun on those European roads - especially in a 172!!
