Sorry in advance if i make this a bit long,

So as of now i dont have a car and being 17 with no job and just moved back in with my mum i was rather surprised when a couple weeks ago she started sugesting viewing cars n keeping an eye out for mk1s,
Shes seen one, bareing in mind shes tight on her money hes asking £300 for it but its in the back end of nowhere and been there for abit so may be room for haggling

Its a 1.2 Oasis L Reg, being picky id like a 1.4 but still, tax and M.O.T, FSH, its yellow which is good because i saw a yellow one on pistonheads not that long ago and fell in love....but its not color coded and lacking alloys
In the chance that if i do get it and get a job would it be to much hassle for me to color code it sort some alloys out and whatever else i decide
The other thing is i recently started driving lessons so would like something to drive around in with my mother, im NOT going to wrap it round a post..i know ur thinking it
Would it be worth getting it and keeping it bog standard in the hope i get a job or just go without
I feel the most important part to me is its YELLOW, ticks a big box for me, but thts about it, and if shes willing to get it then...

I thought you have a calibra 2.5 v6? :p

On a serious note, when i had my first car (corsa C 1.0) i spent money on it modifying it, and really wish now 5 years later I had not of bothered. Regardless of how it looks the 1.0 or 1.2 is a stepping stone to greater things. Id personally use it for freedom and gettnig about. Save the money you would spend "modifying" it, and put it towards a new car in years to come. I guess if you want to do the modifying thing your going to, but just wish i listened to other people back then who told me the same thing im telling you :)

Secondly if the car is only 300£ is it really worth making it look nice? Polishing a turd?
