Non-Sport HID request

  BMW M135i
many people have but they are illegal and usually look chavvy

Do not fit hid bulbs in halogen clusters as you'll most likely blind everyone coming the other way with the skatter. If you want them you'll either have to buy the real thing or get some projector clusters to fit them in.

  Mercedes C320!
Well i have them in my car and they work really well and do not blind any one... also they have not melted the headlights like other people said they do!!! Well worth it!

  BMW M135i
I'm sorry I forgot you can see from everyone elses point of view, theres a reason they're illegal.

  Mk1 Clio F4R'd
most of time the beam pattern will blind oncoming drivers. They look a million times better fitted with projectors.

LOOOOOOL at the PC brigade. Made sure they were set up height wise etc. No problems with anyone flashing etc. You really think adjusters on a rear beam on a lowered hard Clio would keep the lamps adjusted in time with every imperfection in the road? Dont think so........

Not worth it without projectors

Sorry mate, gotta disagree there, mine work fine as they are set fairly low and i've never been flashed anymore with the HID's on my 197 than i did with the XENONS on my old 182..

Humm.. I fitted brighter bulbs to my 182 cup (no projectors) and just about every car flashed me! lol

Made night driving great though!

Its lucky you have a good face then eh ;)

Nah i sent mine on the garage door as its got lines across to get the beam height dead on, they look mint!!

They are not illegal, the law is New cars with xenon bulbs must have working washer jet's to pass mot. There is no such thing as a projector, its called a dichroic block, this filters light. put them on your car there is no reason to not be able to see better!

And washers usually do fack all anyway. I've had them on a 182 and a punto GT. Though i'm in the process of retro fitting them to the 197 as i like the look?!

maybe they wanted to say hi?

x

Wouldnt blame them ;)

if HIDS help to see better why is it chavvy.. :S i have them and they only do one thing.. to see better at night, nothing chav about them.

  vers le haut doigt milieu
the only chavvy part is when you see the cheep Halfords bulbs on a shitty car. The Halfords bulbs are normal filament bulb's but instead of being in a vacuum like halogens there in xenon gas, this just gives a slightly colder output from the normal 3600k to around 4000k. However a proper Xenon arc lamp requires a ballast which sends a constant current to bulb with a Jacobs ladder type filament. THIS IS THE IMPORTANT BIT A xenon arc lamp can only produce 5600K-6000K it will peak at 7000k when near the end of its life (it may also go green), the people who you see selling kits with xenon’s that produce the purple 8000kelvin+ are not using the discharge system to recreate that look. THESE BULBS HAVE BEEN COLOURED PURPLE (minus green), if you where to put Colour Temperature Blue on a bulb the temperature will change from yellow to blue but the tint magenta to green will never change.

Might do it just for the sake of it lol !! Bet the bits set you back a fair amount from the stealers !

Aye, it adds up. It could probably be done on the cheap. Only really need the washers, the rest is out of sight ;) Need an extra washer pump, bigger bottle new filler neck piping etc. I'm sourcing the pipework from egay once the bits have arrived. Need to see what diameter i need

yours are in projectors though, hence they are considered legal

yeah i had HIDs on my old megane - and i loved them. i would definately get them again if I didnt alread have xenons :D never had a problem with people flashing me but yeah they were bright and thats why i loved them!

  Racing Blue 182 Cup
I want to fit HIDs (4.3k) to my Clio 182 Cup. I am suprised that people think that it shouldn't be done to cars without xenons. I had a set fitted to my last car and never had a problem. Never flashed, and the vis was much, much better. Plus police cars light up a mile away!

  Mk1 Clio F4R'd
I can get HIDs made for cars without projectors i think, havnt tried them yet though

  Mégane RS
2 types of xenons d2s & d2r, one is for projectors and the other one is for non projectors, there is also d4r-s but not many use them
