id put my money on the clio
zr's are normally 1.4 twin cam
they pump bout 100 bhp,

clio rsi is about 115bhp (might be wrong)
plus i wud imagine it would be lighter,
zrs are quite large cars,

  ?
Renault Clio (98-01)
1.6 16V RSi 3d

Weight 995 kg
Engine Size 1598 cc
Cylinders 4
0-60 mph 9.3 s
Power Output 110 bhp
Valves 16
Torque 148 Nm
Top Speed 122 mph

Think he said his MGZR was a 1.8, which would mean (if it was 120ps model)

MG ZR Hatchback (01-05)
1.8 (120ps) 5d

Weight 1160 kg
Engine Size 1796 cc
Cylinders 4
0-60 mph 8.6 s
Power Output 115 bhp
Valves 16
Torque 160 Nm
Top Speed 119 mph

So im thinking his is definately faster in a straight line, but would there be much in it? ive heard RSI's are faster than paper figures.

Also...what about around a track/ top end / gearing / handling? Both cars stock btw.

Which ZR though?

I'd imagine the Clio would only beat the ZR with the lowest power.

The ZR160's aren't far off 172 pace.

Would be pretty close, though i think that zr would just pip ahead if its a 1.8.

My mates old zr 1.8 used to almost be able to keep up with my saxo vts, so they arent slow cars.

All depends on conditions, bends, driver etc tbh.

my mate has a 1.4 twin cam zr and i got a 1.6,
off lights ill leave it easy, from a rolling start its a bit closer
since they have really long gears. dont thinks zr's first gear is anything special, its long but not very powerful.
