Rstuner vs RStuning

Hey guys, firstly please no guessing ...

Id like to know the differences between the two. Is it worth going to see Paul over the RStuner and also save myself 150 quid.

Mods are full system and decat, filter and CAF, inlets (soon)

Just wandering if i will see more benefit in going to Paul ?

Cheers Rob

i would get the inlets done first then go to see paul, he may be more expensive but it will be a custom map to your car getting the most out of the modifications you have, plus before and after runs on the dyno, top service

i'd be interested to see what figures you produce as i will have the same spec soon

I'd have the RS tuner imo. Henk can customise the map to your car, upload it, done. All updates are free iirc too!!! Pmurray wont RR the car unless you want it to, and that cost more ££££. He'll just have generic map for bolt on goddies?

i guess it's personal preference but i'd do everything you're going to to the engine and then have it set up on a RR (custom map)

i guess there are tolerances in the fuelling/ignition but you're just not going to find the optimum map (for performance/efficiency - and reliability don't forget) by plugging in a lap top and downloading an arbitrary map - even if it has been produced with whatever mods you've got taken into account. every engine is different.

Go see Paul. He won't do a generic map it'll be custom which is what you need.

Running the RStuner piggyback is far from ideal.

He will do both ie plug in generic or much better a custom map at around £350 + vat.

You will get a far better result from a custom map.
Cant comment on RStuner but "looks" good.

Yep, but if you wanted it just remapped,(most on here do with just bolt on mods) it'll just be uploaded, like an RStuner. So if your handy with the laptop, you can do it yourself and save £150 or so.... :)

Unless you have major mods then a generic map is good enough. There will be minimal gains. Just strip your cars out or upgrade brakes and suspension if you want to go faster.

That is far away from truth.

Henk can tailor the map by using the data generated by the ECU on the car. Even' if you buy the PRO option you can get additonal wideband data, enabling him to finely tune your car. To me it is much better than tuning on dyno since you run your car on real road conditions.

Surely RSTUNER.

If you are confident using a laptop - I would recommend fastchip.

Otherwise go see RS Tuning.

Both offer std and custom mapping - I would say they are both just as skilled.

For me on the other side of the world it was a no brainer - and Henk ended up doing a semi custom map for me - and doing the datalog runs is a lot of fun :)

Get the RSTuner with custom map mate, then you've got change for the inlets too!
