what is the advantage of freesat over normal freeview?

i see some tv's are starting to come with freesat built in. is it better than normal freeview other than the fact that it uses a satallite so will work in areas with poor freeview reception.

HD really. You get BBC, ITV HD etc. Will be a while before that comes to Freeview.

I think the main advantage is for people that live in a non freeview area as freesat can be had anywhere through the dish.

Wrong, you get more channels in some aspects and loose others for example five (at present) and dave are not on freesat. If you can scan for the astra f.t.a. channels as well you'll pick about 900 up or so, mostly bilge but theres some ok free p**n lol.

HD is bloody impressive though imo, just a shame theres feck all decent on and itv hd only broadcasts specific events at specific times and bbc hd is only after 7pm.

You don't get the same number of channels as Freeview.

In the night garden is on BBC HD from 6:20pm during the week, Iggle Piggle and Makka Pakka in HD is something to behold!

I've said you don't, and ok theres nothing on it if your over the age of 5 then :rasp:. Barring a few select things.

BBC HD is such a let down. They shoot everything in HD these days, so why can all the good shows be on BBC can't be shown in HD is beyond me. For example when top gear is on there is some garbage on BBC HD..
