Cap Off to GDI

  330Ci Sport Convertible
After reading a lot of threads where people have nitemares with garages, i thought i would give my opinion on GDI.

The 172 lives again thanks to the guys and girl [hi Bex] at GDI. Having owned loads of different cars over the years [some more trouble than others] and dealt with many garages, i have to admit these people are the dogs danglies.

Andy and co have bent over backwards getting the car back on the road after a few hiccups [no fault of theirs, dodgy 2nd hand box] and i can't praise them enough. I've never felt so at ease leaving a car with a garage as i did with them. Danny worked his balls off much later than he should of Andy offered help and advice along the way and makes a wicked cuppa! Bex kept me informed throughout the process and is the friendly face of GDI.

I plan on having quite a bit more work doing on the 172 and have no hesitation in having it all done at GDI. So there it is, not your usual "FCUK garage ruined my car" thread, just a genuine account of my experience.

second that, i'm there tomorrow having my cams fitted, i have no probs with the 3+hr drive now after i had my inlets done as the service and banter is first rate

you can tell they are all car nuts who love their work and have all the bases covered

i've had no personal experience with GDI, have heard some horror stories, and one of my mates was ripped hard, but i'd still probably use them if they had something that i needed.

makes a change to see positive feedback about a company tho, usually its people slating not praising that makes the news

i have the major work on my car/engine done by them, cant fault them in the slightest back in for cams also on saturday.

Mine is booked in for a brake overhaul on the 29th,been a expensive 2 weeks but worth it.

If your lucky you may get Andy to fire up that Viper that is there.

Holy s**t that thing makes some noise.

better get them to turn off the bunsen burner on the back of your car! Surprized your bumper isn't melted!

Good feedback.

I can also agree how good it is to read a positive review of GDI. Andy and Bex are probably two of the nicest people in the motor trade I have come across.

Just got back from my cam fitment, top notch as always.

Just a shame about the massive scar i now have from projectile car keys :p

dont want to comment to be honest untill i've had the car mapped to suit, fitting the cams is only half the job, car will be running lean no fuel for extra lift etc

i've only driven the car back from GDI to home and took it nice and easy to bed them in

mapping will be done @RStuning tomorrow and i'll put a new thread up with the results :)

Cool. Only takes 20 mins to run them in at 2-2500 rpm continously.
Having mine fitted fri and mapped by andy on sat. I have bodies tho so should feel even better :)

this is a nice read about GDI , seem like a great bunch of serviceminded people.

However; why do the moderators leave this thread alone , leaving it here in the Engine + gearbox section, while i remember some people doing the same (yep me too) , appreciating-thanking K-tec for example; and these threads were gone/moved quite quickly, the same day actually ?
This one has been here for days ?
