I got a 02 reg 1.2 Clio, its current BHP is 60.

I was just wondering how i could improve this?

Dont bother, there are little gains to get from a 1.2, the only way to make the car faster is to strip it.

Wrong section ;)

To answer the question, just don't, you're not going to get a considerable gain without throwing ££££££££££'s at it. As said, stripping is about the best thing you could do.

I wouldnt mind making it sound nicer not like a hair dryer! What can i do? to make it sound nicer!

  Cupra 300 ST 4drive
your pissing in the wind with power upgrades on a 1.2, just get a loud exhaust and induction kit your senses will tell you its more powerful when its not, sorry to be blunt but at the end of the day its a N/A 1.2 engine

Ok, the thing is its my first car, and its only done 15k on the clock. And i cant really afford the insurance on a better car. Already spending 1700 on insurance!

Dont forget you'll need to declare your mods, and I am guessing as your driving a 1.2 and paying £1700 insurance that your young, and that will mean most insurers wont insure you with modifications.

All i done is put a clio standard spoiler on it!! and changed the aerial!

Just focus on the looks mate. fun can still be had with limited power, jus make it look better theres way more potential to do that:evil:

  Audi TT 3.2 V6
I wouldn't bother. Squeezing a meaningful amount of power is hard enough from a 182 let alone a 1.2

  182
buy a faster car
i no you mentioned the insurance
but if your spending loads on modifying then you may as well save the cash and spend it on the insurance of the faster car

Seen loads of these "I want a faster 1.2" threads, and tbh, when people say "save up for a faster car" it really is the best thing to do.

Get some one to take you out in a 182, or something as quick/quicker, and you'll soon learn why it's pointless spending money on a 1.2, without having to take an ear bashing off this lot.
