..Has anyone ever forgotten to renew their MOT..?

October 2008 for me.
I'm now panicking like a motherfucker..

That's what I'm going to do, book it in for next week but I first need to get rid of the de-cat and i need it to get to the other side of West Midlands for 3 days next week. Oh buggerrrrr...
 
unfortunately for me my situation is similar.

march both tax and mot run out... and my car needs new left xenon maybe, new front bumper and new xenon washers :(
 
I forgot to mot my old clio once. My kid brother was learning to drive with it as well. Could of ended badly!
 
Lol just been thinking about this as i thought mine was due/ran out...... April 09 for me phew
 
It's even worse when you have things to sort out on the car. Luckily I can get someone to pass me with a De-Cat.
 
on the subject of MOT's my cars a 57 plate. Do they send you a letter or something when your first MOT is due?
 
when your car is due its first MOT after the 3 years from manufacture, are you sent notice from renault or DVLA?

EDITED- SORRY didnt read ak-sac-06 post. well im pretty sure mine is due soon but ive not recieved anything yet.!
 
I never forget my MOT, its due with my car tax, bike tax, bike service, bike insurance and until this year my car insurance.
 
so the punishment is only a 40 quid fine?

I thought it was along the lines of crushing the car etc seen as it seems "more important" than tax in my opinion as it determines how road worthy a car is?

might just be me being silly but if they can crush for not paying your road tax, surely they can do worse for not having an MOT?

I dunno though.. anyone know for sure? google is my friend. this is probly just me making a pointless post. lol

I agree. But there is very little punishment for no MOT.

And as people always say that it invalidates your insurance. People saying it does are wrong.
 
I didn't receive any reminder from the DVLA or Renault about getting my first MOT last year. luckily I checked the date it was due. Now I've got two cars that need MOT at the beginning of July. Almost on first name terms with the examiner. He did try to advise me that my headlights were too blue. Xenons ftw.
 
Punishment for no MOT--- crucifiction for the first offence-- nail em up , nail some sense into them
