Elephant Renewal Premiums

I got my insurance renewal in the post today and noticed it was a bit high, at just over £1000. However, if I created a new quote on their website using EXACTLY the same details, it comes in at £800 including all the extras I had before. And this is directly from Elephant themselves, none of this compare the muppets crap.

The woman I spoke to "didnt have a clue" as to why the renewal quote was higher, although I expect Im not far off the truth by thinking they rely on people not actually checking.

So all those with Elephant, or any other online insurance company, it might be worth your while to pop and get a new quote before accepting your renewal offer! It saved me £200!

Same thing happened to me when i was with norwich union. Just cancell your policy and take the new quote online. When i called them, thats what the women told me to do, and never had no problems.

Elephant are like it all the time. When I called them they would honour the cheaper quote (no choice really if they want my business)

it's perfectly normal, why not too I say - if people are dumb enough not to get a comparison quote or 2 when it's so easy with the internet then they can probably afford to pay over the odds in the first place and who are Elephant to complain?!

Elephant will match and beat the best price by a few pennies without the need to start a new policy, been doing it for 7 years.

My Insurance company tried to rip me off, i got a few other quotes and rang them with the cheapest. After alot of holding an arsing around, she came back and said we'll match that! I said very good, I think I'll go with the other company tho as you tried to rip me off with my renewal!

maybe you could ring reenlight on my behalf then? they have offered their best renewal to me apparently...bit gutting to be honest!
