Tell tale signs of an imported car

Hey

I'm looking at a moncao blue 172, hopefully tonight. Year 2001 model, phase 2 of course.

I read somewhere on here that a few 172s were imported (I realise that they were all imported as they were made in France LOL) between 2001 and 2003.

I know a HPI should bring up the details of a car being imported, but what else should I look for? Is there anything specific on the car that will be different? I think it says on the V5 document, does it not?

No locking wheel nuts.

No alarm.

No glass etching.

Boot full of garlic and snails.*

*Lie.

LMAO, awesome. Also, there should be a tired old bicycle, Citroen 2CV and a string of onions somewhere near the car?

Is that everything I need to look for people?

Thanks for the speedy responses

Yeah, no alarm and no window etchings will be the most obvious signs AFAIK. I wouldn't worry though. It's all bulls**t, as they are all imports. It's just that the 'imports' never had the UK specific additions added before delivery. No alarm is probably a bonus, since it sucks hard anyway. Also, remember that it may have had some glass replaced at some stage, so some may not be etched. Both the drivers side window and the windscreen have been replaced in my shed for example.
