Alarm keeps going off when I unlock the car?

As per title, my Clio 172 alarm keeps going off when I unlock the car, it got really worse the other day when it was raining to the point where I couldn't use the car at all as I couldn't disarm the alarm.

The alarm can not be disarmed with the keyfob when this happens, I have noticed that when it "sorts" it self out the car beeps 3 or 4 times.

This is really embaressing, people are starting to think I've nicked it!

What could this be?

Spoke with a workshop manager at Renault who thinks it may be the siren and it has water in?

For your information I can still start the car so it is clearly not imobilised when this happens?

Anyone had this?

when the car beeps like that it means that the pressure sensors inside are turned off so its probs a faulty 1 of them that sets the alarm off.

Do you mean when you open a door the alarm goes off, even though the door should be unlocked? If so, yep I had this.. couldn't find out how to sort it. Hopefully someone will know though.

Oh great a sensor, with the amount of them this is going to be a pain.

Don't suppose you get your courtesy light coming on randomly as well Tom? Just thinking about it now I guess the two could be connected for me. Aren't there only three/four pressure sensors - two doors, boot and bonnet?

Mine does this. If i open the door or boot to quickly after unlocking the alarm goes off.

Yeah mine's like that except it doesn't stop, lol; even if I leave it more than 5 seconds. It's like the doors and alarm are out of sync. Think I'm going to try and figure a way of testing the pressure sensors over weekend.

Ok just been out testing, the courtesy light is not on, the alarm goess off whichever door I unlock and open. This is majorly annoying, what can I do!

I can't drive the car as the alarm keeps going off periodically if i drive it after it's gone off

Have you recently disconnected the battery? Happened on mine, can't remember how I sorted it.

When the alarm goes off, open the door, slam it so the alarm gets louder and then use the keyfob, helped with my old dynamique.

Well I went to unlock the car today and the alarm hasn't gone off, I think water may have got into the unit it self somehow and now it's dried out it's working?

Oh well just glad I can use my car again

Nope, this is bloody ridiculous, i cant turn the key without it setting it self off now.

Turning the key in the lock will set the alarm off if you open the door...

Pressing the fob won't.

Pressing the fob does and I meant turning the key in the ignition barrel.
