Aftermarket ECU = MOT fail???

According to a guy I know, because the 197 was never made without ABS my car would fail an MOT without it (if I went aftermarket ECU) Is he talking pish??

depends mate if the abs light still comes on on ignition then goes out after the specified time and still goes through on the brake test it should be fine

i could be wrong but i am shore that the abs will still work with a after market ecu as the abs has its own control box

Hmm, it may do mate, I just thought it didnt!! Its dangerous when I think too much!!

even if the abs doesnt work it can still go through the mot as long as the dash light does what it should
