Who has an Exclusive and what number is yours?

my mate who doesnt come on here has no 11. it was the first one that didn't sell to renault management. might be for sale soon too..

There were only 172 (one hundread and seventy two) Scarab Green 172 Clios produced for the British market in February 2001
 
I have one, it's No 131. I live in Harrow Middlesex. I love it but it's giving me trouble at the mo. Intermittent immobiliser problem - light wont go out on dash sometimes.

Just called Renault London west and he said it would cost £75 to plug it in to diag machine and £120 FOR EVERY HOUR AFTER IF THEY CANT FIND THE PROBLEM!

I haven't taken it to Renault for a while; does this sound allot for labour??

Does anyone know of a good service place in London that isn’t Renault??

Was thinking of calling somewhere like Nissan to see if they would work on it; any comments?

That is expensive, considering you're in London I suspect you could find a cheaper Renault specialist as opposed to a dealer.

I personally wouldn't get Renault or Nissan main dealers to touch it, both will be pricey imo.

Is your Exclusive the one in your avatar?

Ha, No that is my first RS MK1 that some c**t torched.

I got a MK2 RS after and then traided that for the Exclusive i now have. I paid over odds for it from a dealer but it was low miles. It's now on 47000m.

I was even thinking of taking it to K-Tec to sort out but i'm not sure if they do immobilisers.

I think i shocked the guy on the phone, my knee jerk reaction was "FLOCK ME" down the phone; he went silent! I told him i'd get back to him.
 
172 Exclusive - production/plaque numbers

As there seems to be alot of chat about these cars at the moment, it got me thinking about some un-answered questions about them.

We all 'know' that 172 were to be brought into the UK, but did the order books actually reach 172 as they were only available (at least originally) by special order only. Scarab Green isn't a colour that appears on the list of product numbers by Renault Sport either, so did the UK receive all 172?

Perhaps we could get a list or register going of plaque numbers and maybe reg no's to see how far we get as to the likely amount we have here.

Spec. from new if anyone isn't sure;

Scarab Green paint (used previously only on high spec Espace).
Dune grey full leather, inc door cards and steering wheel.
BBS alloys
Cabasse CD head unit in place of the standard cassette, as well as the standard multi changer.
Individually numbered door cill plaque.
Pale grey floor mats.
Limited to 172 models into the UK.

My old one..

no 022 ( I'll leave it to Ady to put up reg no. as current owner if he wishes)

Im sure there was an 02 plate one that was No 150 ish think it was an ex Renault car (i was looking to buy it a while ago) so I wouldnt of thought they made the full 172
Slightly off topic but haven't they cut the R26.R production run short too?

I think this is a really good idea.
Due to the low numbers involved, it's probably the only opportunity we have to make a difinitive list of a particular Clio run and inspite of them being a bit marmite, they are interesting I think.

I'd personally like to own one, but if I did, I know I'd not want to sell it and four cars on the drive is a no-no.

I would imagine that Reno would shaft you if you needed replacement seats, interior parts and sill plates. :eek:

Yeh..as I mentioned fella.. no record of it. I doubt JT will know too much, but he'd be the guy to ask for sure. May be seeing him monday, so i'll ask then if I remember.. lol
