Coolant Cap for a 172 - what psi is it?

what colour are they? think renault blue caps are 1.2 bar and brown caps are 1.4 bar

Reminder of the ratings for the expansion bottle valve:
Expansion bottle valve with:
– a brown spot 1.2 bars
– a blue spot 1.4 bars
– a yellow hand 1.4 bars
– a white hand 1.6 bars
– a grey hand 1.8 bars

Well it has a yellow hand on so it must be 1.4!

hmm, OK, just found this:

The expansion bottle valve calibration value is 1.2
bar (brown).

on P19.1 of

N.T. 3286A

that for F4R 730, so may not be exactly what you have.

i have an F4R 730 but the cap is a yellow hand, indicating 1.4!

and just for reference, on the mk1's the brown cap (F7s) is 1.2 bar and the blue is 1.6

This is an old thread need to give it a bump.. I'm stuck!

Has anyone found out what you need, someone had tightened mine up stupidly tight and i cracked it when taking it off! It was white with a brown spot so 1.2 bar, or 20psi according to the info above. Then when i looked at the only thing that i could find was that it only seems to cover upto 1.4l engines. Any ideas what I need anyone? best off getting one from renparts or can I just go to scrap yard and get one off any clio?
