NEW clutch

hi people the clutch on my 182 is riding high (has done for about a year now lol )
booking in for its service soon how much am i looking at for a new one fitted ??

They ride high anyway don't they? also I'm sure Northwest Performance were advertising new clutch fitting for around £270. Don't quote me on that though because I maybe wrong.

Will all depend on where you take it to have the work done and what clutch kit is fitted. MikeB's price I'd be expecting from Renault where and Jonff's price (and lower) from a specialist fitting a Valeo kit.

Although I could be wrong, I'm just guessing at about 3 hours labour plus parts and consumables. But as Jonff says the clutchs on 1*2s are heavy with a high bite point.

Its certainly more than 3 hours! Christ knows what book time is! I fit one in a phase one yesterday!

Took me and andy (his car, phase 1 exclusive) from 11AM, until 5.30, we fit a clutch kit and rear axle bushes in that time, both of us working, no interuptions! had a break for lunch.

Iv started on mine today, everythings off just gearbox to get off now, but no point until the clutch kit had arrived, but it took a good 4hours to get everything off for me.

Do you have to lower the subframe on the 1*2's, I know we did on my old 1.2

Changing the clutch is on my to do list for 2010.

Do they REALLY need doing though? Unless they are slipping obviously.

no! We did andys yesterday because it was heavy, was loads of wear left in the plate still!!!

Just did it for the sake of it really!! much impoved! :)

a friend of mine drove the car for about 30mins.....clutch = GAME OVER
seeing as were talking about clutches, want to go for a bit more of a heavy duty clutch if im gonna get it done. what would u lot recommend? helix organic maybe? group N from Ktech?

its been high for ages no slipping!, r-sport just advised me it was riding high, just trying to get the clio back to a1 condition so its the clutch, bonnet, splitter and new exhaust
