Is that yours oms?

I plan to learn to surf properly this summer. Have messed around a bit before but never really gotten into it.

That's my car... and a friend's boards on top.

I ended-up getting a 9'6" CSK - a long board that turns!

I absolutely love it... haven't been for a while due to cycling commitments, but I intend to get back into it once my legs give up. :D

Winter surfing is easier - less people about, but waves tend to be bigger. Where are you based?

mine with a 7'3" minimal and a 7'6" foamy on top. Yes I know they're on upside down but I was in a rush during a rain shower

Dan, the foamy I have is/was my practice board. Its so boyant you really can't do much wrong with it. You're welcome to borrow it if you're learning down this way :D

LOL - your car looks like it's got an erection!!!!! As you said, the boards are facing the wrong way, teehee.

Nice 'n' low... what's the suspension setup?

LOL I know, I bagged the boards up and my mate chucked them on the roof while I was getting changed...

Standard cup suspension, but with all the camping gear in the boot and about 40 litres of water in the passenger footwell... and to think all these people spend £££ on coilovers! :approve:

Haha! Coilies don't put up with the miles IMO, so you're better off without them.

You've GOT to try sportlines... they were awesome. Keep an eye on the FS section, and you might get lucky.

In the meantime - looking MINT.

had sportlines on the old 172 and was very impressed. The 182's gone back to standard now, and I'm loving it!

Cheers dude, i may well take you up on that to get me going.

Been looking at a minimal, guessing at my size id need around 7'6-7'9 or so? Where do you surf around your way? My mums friend used to live in Newquay so spent everyday out in the sea during the holidays when i was younger, not been for around 9 years though! I wasnt very good at the time but have vowed to go back and learn properly.

Yeah a dude your size would need something around 7'6. I ride a 7'3 minimal as I'm only a novice and its great to learn on. Will get a custom shaped board when I'm better. We have the artificial surf reef here in Boscombe, but its not all that. Mainly head down to Bournemouth pier when I just fancy a splash around in the evenings, but I found myself road trippin' over to Bude or Croyde Bay every other weekend during the summer. Love Bude, top little town!
