Xenon or HIDs?

Hello Guys & Gals

A friend of mine is going to purchase a 182 Cup

My question is do they all come with Xenons or can you fit HIDs to improve the lights? Ive looked on ebay and I cant find any HID kids... so I presume they are Xenons?

182 cups came with standard halogen headlamps, 182s came with xenons.

Easy to tell, xenons have a lense, halogens don't.

Ahh ok its defo a 182 cup... so are there upgrades available then? Has anyone fitted HIDs on these before? IF so where can i get them from.

Xenon lamps are HID's.

The difference is they're either factory fitted lamps, or aftermarkets kits. Fitting aftermarket kits to normal 'reflector units' is illegal.

HID: High-Intensity Discharge.

Retrofitting HIDs to a original Headlamps is ILLEGAL regardless of bulb colour and regardless of lens type, no ifs, no buts, no grey areas, nothing.

You can legally retrofit halogen headlights if you use the full headlight unit, self leveling, and headlamp cleaning.

You pays your monies, you makes your choices. On a modern car with a legal alternative available, I would only ever do it properly.

As a fellow road user it gets really annoying when someone is coming the other way with bright as fcuk headlights. As said do it properly or not at all.
