Where is the PAS sensor on 172?

Having a bloody irritating whine from what sounds like the PAS pump, before I get it changed can anyone indicate where the PAS pump sensor is on a 172 Sport?

Figured I'd check this first.

you need to pull the plastic cover around the bonnet release and its down in front of the fan, without looking. i replaced mine the other week. if it's seized on it's a b**ch to get the nut cracked off.

can take a pic in a bit if you want?

i doubt a faulty sensor would cause whining but if it's leaking then change it, mine never made a noise. i'd say whining would be from the pump itself. will sort a pic asap for you.

Are you sure in the pas pump? 9 times out of 10 a whine on 172 is the lower aux belt idler.

yeah man, had the aux belt, tensioner and lower pulley changed last week. Sounds like it's coming from the PAS pump

Yup, Its £71 inc VAT for the part at the Dealership round here, Told him to wait til the end of the month til i get paid as i can put up with an odd drip til then

Going to go order it in my work clothes see if i get any discound too, Can only try
