Best/cheapest place to buy standard exhaust parts?

I need a new centre and back box for my ph2 172. Anyone know a place to get decent parts at a good price?

genuine or performance aftermarket are the only worthwhile options really. Pattern parts are of a smaller bore, so are a bigger restriction than standard.

I really dont want anything louder than standard, looks like genuine is the only way to go :dapprove: Any ideas on price?

approx £350 for the cat back system from renault - you may as well buy an aftermarket performance one for that price.

K-Tec Stealth.

If you keep the cat in (of course you will for legal and environmental reasons!!) it shouldnt be much louder than standard at all.

Also will out last the car, for about £300 !?

Standard or pattern parts are as useful as a chocolate fireguard.

Does anyone have any experience with the stealth noise wise and want to comment?

A full exhaust system from Renault is something like £1900 if you have the cat too. Hilarious, I know.

I had the stealth, de-catted and it sounded boomy and a bit too chavvy at low revs, but above 3k it sounded ace !! With a cat in for MOT time, it sounded 'sporty' for lack of a better word. You could sit at 90 and still talk quite comfortably without SHOUTING !!

Also tucks away (hence the name) so looks OEM and doesn't scream chavtastic spud launcher !

Might just have to bite the bullet and go for this then!

Cheers

Good man. Have a look through the 'for sale' section, you might get lucky.

If not, ask for your CS discount when you order on the phone !!

K-tec stealths are loud and heavy.

Only aftermaket exhaust for a 172 I would now consider is a yozza stealth.

My standard system lasted for 8 years - not exactly a choc fireguard!

Look after them and they will last longer than you think!

Just went to Eurocarparets and they want £79 for the centre section and £65 for the rear box. What do we reckon? I had a look at them both and they seem to be of a decent quality, made by a company called klarius.

You are only keeping this for a little while iirc? if so just go with euro car parts imo

Well that was the original plan, yes. Keep it up to a year I reckon.

Im just worried the ECP bits will be s**t and not fit/sit properly like most of the other tosh they sell.

20% off & free delivery with "box20" code btw.

Not that that helps if the parts are s**t.

their website is shite it barely lists any parts and I have even just tried searching the part number i got from the shop earlier and it is not showing :dapprove: 20% off would have been nice!
