Sub questions

  Clio DCi
Hey, looking at subs for the car,

What would be louder?

2 inPhase 1200w subs with 3000w amp,
or a Vibe 1600w subwoofer with built in amp?

And would my car be able to power either of these ok?

Cheers

Do you drive a clio? I have a Kenwood 800 watt sub in mine and bits all falling off it now!, retain the value of your car and get a smaller one!

I'll sell you mine!

size/brands of the amps??

much more detail would be needed to give an accurate answer.

inphase will probs be louder,
both will sound guff though!

and yes your car will be able to run them if its done properly

I went stupid and got a 15 inch sub i mine at 900w RMS, getting out of the car you realise that your ears are ringing. It has also rattled everything in the car and I can now hear things behind the dash rolling around that I assume should be connected to something.

With the Amp/Sub dont look at the max power rating, always go by the RMS.

Why does anyone car about wattage? You need to sit in the car with the sub to find out how good it is ;)

^^ lol

Apparently they're developing subs that displace air to give a bass kick instead of an actual sound, so you'll still get your car vibrated apart but your ears won't bleed, thus making everyone happy :) have you looked into under seat subs? Far more compact and less chavvy than a conventional sub

Under seat subs are w**k.

I'm guessing that the 3000W sub that you mentioned is an ebay special of some sort, being as you didnt mention a brand. I'd be suprised if it produced 500W rms.

Spend your money on buying something smaller and good quality. Like a 10" JL audio. You'll get vastly superior sound quality and you won't look like a ****.

And knuckles.... surely that's entirely impossible. The noise is created by air displacement, and displacement of air causes sound.

Venoms on a Trophy .. and now this.

Is it 1995 ?

The point of a sub so loud you can't see straight is....?!

My £100 Fli 12" active sub is enough to wobble the insides of my eyeballs if cranked up, but when at a sensible level, produced nice levels of low frequencies to compliment the standard components up front.

all speakers move air, thats how they work. the sound you hear or feel is down to the frequency, different size speakers operate in an optimum frequency range
