Does anyone know if I can get any track tyres in 195/45/15s?

I need the 45s for proper clearance in the wheel arches and can only find 50s, could raise the car but it feels so good with the current settings it would be a shame to do so.

I think the answer is no mate. Need a wider tyre for 45 profile. Only option would be to burn some road tyres each lap

I think I'll just have to raise it a few mms, I'm sure the tyres will make up for it

loads of performance tyres in that size, 195 / 45 / 15 is what most of the saxos and 106's use. my VTS had this size yokohama s drives on and i thought they were a good tyre

interesting jamie. someone else i spoke to said the same as you. i had them on my VTS and i thought they were a good tyre. not exactly an r888 but the yokos offered quite alot of grip IMO.

what did you think of them?

i am currently running pirelli zeros and they are an amazing tyre when you have got some heat in them

Personally after having used a proper track tyre I will never go back unless it's a wet day.. Performance road tyres are all well and good when pushed hard on the road but ultimately are always lacking when taken upto track temperatures as the simply the tread patterns are wrong and the sidewalls not stiff enough.

Dont get me wrong if you want to do track days on the cheap then yeah get some yoko's or T1R's and you will certainly find the tyre limitations before the cars or indeed your own but get some proper trackday orientated tyres on it and you really wont believe how much extra speed you can carry through corners and in turn brake later and get on the power earlier..

Mine had some abuse on my VTS but they took everything I through at them which was a hell of Alot and they never let me down.

I would recommend them tbh.

In all honesty I didn't really rate the S-drives on the road let alone track compared to Conti's, PE2's or even the Rainpsort2's i'm running now, but hey everyone has different opinions and different driving styles which suit some setups better than others

I've got PZeros on my 911 and they are awesome, but I am after some genuine track tyres.

PZero's,we raced on theses for year in Hungary as they were the control tyre for the Championship in 2005.

Once shaved down to 4 mil they were great,we had to do this as they moved around too much on the tread.

I've just noticed that Avon CR500s as on the Caterham Superlights come in this size. Does anyone know if these would be notably better than say Pirellis?

im running some maxxis ma-z1's in that size and they feel incredible, loads of grip

Are you running the ma-z1 drift or vistra? Have you used them on track?
