Found a Clio pre code calculator, only had to enter 4 digits press enter and my stereo code came up instantly, sweet!

Stereo code sorted for free!!

Can only be done via computer,
Google, clio pre code calculator,
Click on the second most searched for

Scroll down to just above the picture of the standard face unit, highlighted in blue is http://www.ziddu.com/download/16943260/RENAULT-PRE-CODE-CALCULATOR.zip.html.
Number 2 not the first one,
New window opens asking you to download, verification code and download
Save to your computer and then open when finished, open calc Philips de dos, extract all files and then open it or run it,
Black screen opens up with foreign language just need to type the last 4 digits of the bar code 1 letter 3 numbers, sounds long winded but easy as anything.
My last 4 digits are J011 entered that pressed enter code is there, see last pic. First is always capital rest numbers, any problems just ask

Just used this, worked fine on my Tuner list.
Absolutely brilliant, really chuffed with that, thanks.
Tell you what mate, you're a star for that.
On a PH1 tape player thing the sticker is different to the tuner list on the later 172 cd slot but it doesn't take long to find out which 4 digits you need to input into the code calculator, a letter followed by 3 digits.

Anyone know where I can find the barcode without taking out the headunit?! Radio needs code and I havent got tools to take it out

I can confirm the tool works for my Tuner List in my 2003 Renault Scenic.
Although the text-file in the ZIP states that this tool is only for an Update List.
Here is another link to the tool, incase others "dissapear".

I have gratefully downloaded and unzipped the files but do not see how to proceed to get to the code, which is supposedly should be self-explanatory.
