Exhaust blowing

Hi guys.
Was out yesterday with a full car and i went over a few speed bumps which scraped on what im guessing was the cat.
Now its blowing to f**k! I couldn't have a look cause it was dark when i got home but it definately sounded bad.
+ i don't have much spare time.

My MOT is due feb 20th and i'm guessing it wouldn't pass in its present state.

What options do i have?
Would i need a new cat or ..?
I'm not really technically minded so bear with me.

Ideally i'd like a new exhaust but i'm a poor student so i can only afford to spend £250 max.
+ its a 1.2.

with tht budget just take it to a exhaust shop and get it welded they sort u out deffo

I think your jumping the gun a little thinking you might need a new Cat . Maybe it's hit the speed bump and just knocked it causing it blow . Take it to a local exhaust place , preferably not one of the big places cos they usually charge an arm and a leg . Get it up on the ramp and get it checked over . It might be summat and nothing . So save your pennies for now , it might just cos a few quid for them to check it over and realign it .

Yeah probably did jump the gun abit.
Its just f**king annoying. Fixed one thing and two days later something else goes wrong.

Thats the beauty of car ownership , just when ya think you've sorted one problem another rears its ugly head :S. Hope it's something and nothing and you get it sorted mate
