airbag serv light after fitting bimarcos

iv just put bimarcos in and i have the airbag/serv light on, also management light but i have a decat fitted so i know why thats on but also my abs light has come on. the car has been sat for about 6 months too dont know if that could contribute to the abs light somehow? and i have searched regarding the airbag light before i get slated.

the connections under my seat seem to be different to everyone elses i dont have a black box under mine,
i have the grey box that everyone does and then an orange box and then a black connector looks very similar to the connections used for hid's.
has anyone else got this problem? any help appriciated and its a 51 plate 172 ill try get a picture up if needed.

Mine is a 51 as well, the connectors looked slightly different to the guide on here. Needless to say using a resistor (and a series of different ones) I did not solve it. you have three options:

1. put up with it (zero cost option) but potential fail of an MOT
2. buy an RS tuner + unlock code + airbag module and disable it
3. go and visit someone with a renault clip who can deactivate it.

I wouldn't include the resistor bodge as an option - seen as though it was a load of arsing about with zero end result for me.

decat = emissions light 99.9% sure of that.

ABS light could be anything. Check ABS rings to see if they are cracked would be first, if its been sat they might even just need a good going over with a wire brush.
I also have an ABS light on (sounding suprisingly similar to my car...) and had that diagnosed via renault clip (..option 3 looking more likely now) as being "Right rear speed sensor" - which is/was an open circuit, either means the sensor is fcuked or the wiring is shot somewhere - haven't had it up on the ramps to trace it yet - but get the jack out + torch (its a nice day...) and see what you can see.

Also, see which specialist is closest to you and drop them a PM for quote. if they have clip, they'll sort most of your problems.

I was just thinking about covering the led's behind the dials tbh but the only problem with that is I won't know if a problem comes up lol I'm going to try a diagnostic and see if I can delete the codes iv done it previously for emissions and it lasted about a month aslong as it gets through the mot ill probly leave them when they come back on, but if I find a way of sorting the airbag light with resitors ill let you know

You wont have much luck with covering the LEDs. Its not as straightforward as you'd think IIRC.

Normal OBD wont get rid of the airbag or ABS lights. Unsure on the decat/emissions.

A specialist would only charge £50 and you'd have piece of mind.

Edit: even getting rid of the emissions light will still leave you with ABS and airbag lights = MOT failure under the new rules introduced this year I believe.

yeah i have already failed my mot lol i have used an RAC diagnostic to erase the decat light light before but like you say it is very unlikely that it will clear the others would a specialist remove them for good? im planning on going to rs tuning at some point next month but i need to clear the lights now because i have no MOT lol if i have to i may even remove the led's

Its almost a certainty it wont clear the others mate.

Yes a specialist can turn off the airbag part for the seats (still leaving the steering wheel and passenger one working) which will remove the dash light.
In terms of your ABS problem, you'd be best inspecting the rings + using a wirebrush first. If it still doesnt work, then the specialist can at least diagnose (via the clip) where the ABS problem lies - so you're not going crazy replacing parts just to rule them out.

I'm sure Paul @ RStuning can do it, but I would also recommend Mick@Diamondmotors - whom I had a quote from - not sure where abouts in North Wales you are, but drop either/or a PM.

I'm pretty sure it will be the abs ring on the rear looking at the state of the discs they were bad enough before it went off the road so ill replace all that.I'm sat in the car now trying all sorts of combinations for the airbag just not happening its a problem traveling though as I have no mot and cannot pass withought sorting these issues think I'm just stuck in a vicious circle haha. I think when I get the abs and emissions light out ill see if I can get the airbag as an advisory or something and then clear it when I go upto paul. I'm fitting a turbo to the car next month so I have to go see him for the map.
