What is this? and why is it rubbing my cambelt?

Just heard a strange noise. What is this?



Seems to be rubbing my cambelt

Not cambelt, it's you aux belt you need a new belt and tensioner fitting as the tensioner is shot.

Ah nowhere near as bad as i thought then.

Still a pain in the arse!

History says it was changed last year!

Garage probably did te same as mine did when I bought my 182, and changed just the belt!!

Until it snaps and takes the cambelt with it, which is quite common.

Ye strange little squeek. hense why i looked. Just need to work out how im gonna get it to the garage!

i would get it recoved to a garage, wouldent risk driving it,or even starting it, the cost of a snapped cambelt dosent bare thinking about, compared to a small price to get it recoverd to a garage

Definately do not drive it until it's fixed = make sure the garage changes the tensioner as well as the belt.

Massive Bump... I've got same problem although my tensioner is only 4 months old and done no more than 1000 miles.. Was it your tensioner shot or something else?
