Fitted my wishbones this evening and i found that it takes quite a bit of force to push the wishbone up and down ? The arb is not attached . But I really do have to yank onit to get it to move up and down ? This normal or somthing wrong here ?

Quite normal. The up/down swing of the arm flexes the bush material in rotation, it needs to be stiff to supress any lateral movement. The spring/strut forces are much higher so the up/down loadings from the bush are relatively insignificant on suspension compliance.
The improtant point is that you tighten the clamp bolts when the car is settled at ride height. This is so that the arms are at the correct angle and therefore put the least stress on the bushes, maximising their life and providing equal loadings left/right.
