Google Nexus 4

The only way I can think to describe Android is that is overly complicated. It's like having a Jailbroken iPhone, being able to install all these launchers or needing and app just to get the screen to come one when i get a text message. Trouble is, I hated having a Jailbroken iPhone.
I'm glad I have given it a go as I know know how different the operating systems are etc. I wont be staying on an Android device though, i'm glad its only short term.

Description is spot on! However I'm finding myself warming to it, big screen is ace. Its faster on 3G than WiFi though which is odd.

i disagree, i think iphones are too simple, they are so limited as to what you can customise and change its boring! nexus has so many more little quirks and options , much more fun

Im not well up on phones but these seem cheap on google play , i take it the price is sim free on there , also is the 16gb worth the extra over the 8gb , i only use my phone to ring , txt and surf the net really
any advice would be great cheers

Cheers Adam , i have a blackberry pay and go will i be able to fit that sim as it has a data plan on that , will it work on the nexus ?

Should do. Think it takes a micro sim, so if you have a "normal" one, you either need to cut it to the correct size, or get a micro sim.

Bit stuck now between a nexus 4 and samsung s3 , both getting close on price now, the thing that puts me off the nexus is the back twinkly thing

TBH, if they never said about it being shiny in reviews i wouldn't have even noticed, i don't think it's shiny or glittery.

I never notice mine tbh doesn't bother me.

Update on being a new Android owner: Still find it more complicated than it needs to be, it has some nice little additions over iOS but i still prefer iOS overall.

I do .. Came from a 16gb iPhone 5 which I constantly filled. My 8gb nexus still has 3gb spare .. God knows how!

Another iPhone covert here! Mine should be with me Wednesday, what are the 'must have apps' so I'm ready?

After a good while with the phone now I like it, I like the extra screen size and the hardware in general. BUT. Dear god Android annoys me, horrible OS. It needs simplifying its needlessly complicated.

I've been using android for a few days with my new works phone and while I agree that it is not as smooth as iOS it's certainly a lot more open and the possibilities seem endless!

Anyone looking in here who fancies swapping an iPhone 5 for a Nexus 4 give me a shout. A bit of cash your way as well obviously.
It's a 16gb and its been in a Ringke Slim case from day 1, its spotless.

If only you would have said yesterday, I only sold my iPhone yesterday to buy a nexus 4!

I kind of get this, but I also kind of don't. Personally I like being able to "do more", plus I sometimes actually think the iphone can be over complicated in certain ways. I like having more in-app settings rather than having to go back out the app, into settings, and find whatever I wanted to change in there. Horses for courses like!

It's funny you say that as that's one of my major annoyances, I always seem to be in and out of settings for something or other. My other major annoyance is constantly tapping the home button to get to the app drawer. That's from years worth of time having an iPhone.

I reckon it will be gone in the next week or two, looking for an iPhone 5 at the minute. I gave it a go but personally I don't like it, iOS all the way for me.

Phone came today and I have a problem! In the notification tray I have "new voicemail, voicemail number unknown" I've been through the settings and set my voicemail number up can't remember how! But the notification is still in the tray!? Any ideas?

It goes if I force stop the phone application, but then when I get a new voicemail it doesn't go by listening to it and I need to force stop the app again!

Your mad I'm the total opposite , after being an iPhone fan boy since the beginning I'm so happy I got rid of my iPhone 5 for my nexus. IPhone are going downhill fast and I'm glad I jumped ship

Not for me dude, not feeling it at all. Android is horrific, it looks cheap and everything feels like an 'add-on'. In iOS everything feels integrated, it looks nice and does everything I need it too. Not that Android doesn't, it's just horrible to use. All my opinion of course, at least I gave it a go. Hundreds wouldn't.

IOS is way too simple , nothing is customisable , its boring , not personal at all! I love how you can personalise your nexus to your needs and it won't be the same as every other Joe bloggs phone :p also if I pick up an iPhone now I realise how small and square it feels. Just my opinion :)

Noooo would ruin android making it dumb friendly haha I just convinced my friend to do the change over and he's loving the nexus too, I feel like a preacher !
