Yeah did this yesterday too on my old 2G and had to reinstate firmware and re jailbrake after advertising it as a jailbroken and unlocked phone. Cant believe I got £192 - Only cost me £150 brand new a few years back.
Whats the best way to ensure no personal information or other data is left on the phone? Anything I need to specifically do other than remove contact information?

I currently have a 2g - purchased when they were being flogged for £150 without needing an iphone contract.
I put a O2 simplicty sim and have paid about £20 a month since.
The 2g is unbelievably slow these days so its going to be upgrade to 4g time.
