all i can assumed has happened is, when i tryed to start the car with key minus the circuit board with the transponder attached the car didnt detect it and activated the immobiliser, and due to the immobiliser activating it may have upset something...
didnt mention that its a 2002 clio, ive looked in the fob and i cant actually see anything missing from the circuit board, like the transponder you mentioned.
im familiar with what you mean, a small solid piece of plastic, does this apply to 2002 models?

well as the engine was warm, im unsure if it would jump to the middle when cool (i will go out now whiles it cold and see what happens)]
but surely it should rise the hotter the car gets?
and when the fan kicks in, should this cause it to drop while the fan cools the engine down?

how can this be normal, isnt the gauge suppose to go from the bottom the dial and grandually rise as the temperature rise in the engine, thats how the gauge the temperature of your car isnt it?
and if its left running the dial should rise until the fan starts and cools the engine down, which...
