Renault recommends every 5 year interval, is it not, correct me if im wrong. But there's no way of knowing apart from past reciepts, asking the previous owner or from having a look, but if your going to take it off and have a look, you may as well put a new one in. But if theres any doubt at...
just wrote this on another thread, before you spend &&&'s on a new alternator, check the batterys earth cable, if the battery read lower than 14v, get a jump lead and connect one end on the battery negative and the other on the engine mount or gearbox, a place where you can get a earth from. and...
mine did this, would get increasingly weaker, then wouldnt start at all, went through 3 batterys and an alternator to find out i had a bad earth on the battery to the chassis. get a jump lead and put one end on the battery negative and one end on the engine mount and see if it bumps up the voltage
i havent done my window switches yet either, dont really need them tbh, as its not unbearably hot with our great british weather and i usually open my doors for the drive through maccies, the fitties behind the window always have a giggle haha. it took me a couple of hours to get my old dash out...
i asked the same question, and theres guide for the dash, shows all the wiring and everything. as for the door cards, for the fronts, the electric windows ARENT plug and play, havent seen a guide for them yet, but i cant imagine itll be too difficult, if you have the right tools, also the wires...
went down the bypass one day and i noticed my speedo and rev counter would go up and down when i went over 3000 rpm, now it does it every time i go over 3000 rpm. i want to ask because last time it did this the car wouldnt start. its a mk2 ph1, not really messed around with it electrically...

tweeters - i have alpine tweeters, they have a little box on them.
go to halfords and get some bullet connectors, take your dash out, remove and unplug tweeters, chop connector off, crimp female bullet conector to wires on the clio, and male on tweeter, connect up see if it works, if not swap...
ive seen quite a few of these threads and none of them seem to give a straight answer, so i apologise in advance if youve all seen this type of thread 100 times over.
Thing is, ive done a ph1 to ph2 dash conversuion, im just wanting to do the door cards now.
So, can you plug and play the ph1...
of course i would prefer to have an airbag underneath the dash, but i didnt have one at hand at the time, also i wanted to make sure a ph2 airbag would fit the dash, and by the sounds of it, it sounds like it doesnt.
thanks for the help both of you.
ive recently done a ph1 to ph2 dashboard conversion, all was well then i switched on the ignition, the SERV light came on, at first i didnt think anything of it, i just thought it needed a service, but iv recently read that its actually engine management. and i was just wondering, during the...
for those who are wondering if it can be done, yes it can, and it was much easier than i anticipated, the wiring was easy enough, but make sure you get all the bits as i forgot the gear stick, clock and hazard button, now it looks incomplete. and this may sound silly, but im a bit paranoid about...
